Engineering
50-60%
- Work closely with functional managers to ensure delivery quality & schedule compliance for all engineering activities.
- Work with program managers to define high level work plans for next 3 months & work with functional managers to plan team assignments accordingly.
- Track engineering activities closely & report status to management. Step in from time to time & take corrective actions as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Review engineering process. Suggest & implement process improvements. Ensure process compliance by the team; enforce when needed.
- Ensure >90% resource utilization towards billable (product or services) activities. Minimize unbilled work and other support activities to < 10%.
- Work with Japan team to identify offshore opportunities; establish sustainable & ongoing offshore engagement with Japan office over time.

HR

- Hiring: Work with HR to proactively build pipeline of good quality hiring candidates. Ensure that team skills & capabilities are continuously improved through hiring.
- Performance Management: Work with functional/ program managers to ensure fair assessment of employees performance on regular basis. Create strong performance culture.
- Compensation: Ensure performance linked compensation for employees in line with the market conditions & company situation. Execute compensation reviews, bonus plans, etc.
- Retention: Ensure continuity of critical employees. Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with employees & stay aware of individual plans to avoid surprises.
- Motivation: Proactively address people issues & ensure that the team is motivated & focused on work. Drive HR to plan & execute on necessary team events, awards, etc.

Administration
15-20%
- Work with CFO to finalize annual expenses budget for India office.
- Keep close tab on expenses; run India operations within planned budget constraints & minimize unplanned/ non-budgeted expenses.
- Continuously optimize on costs; identify & remove slack; negotiate better rates with vendors.
- Envisage operational needs & future expenses well in advance & take timely decisions.
- Liaison with accounting to ensure fair & complete accounting & tax compliance for India operations.
- Liaison with company secretary to ensure necessary secretarial & legal compliance for India operations.

IT
5-10%
- Review IT infrastructure & related processes (backup, disaster recovery, etc) regularly.
- Communicate with right people in Japan/ US to ensure integrated & optimized IT setup.
- Set relevant goals for IT administrator & drive those to closure.
- Envisage IT infrastructure needs well in advance & plan for timely fulfillment.
