Short Description
Mandatory Requirements: Minimum total of 4 years experience as a Windows LAN Administrator is required. In addition candidate must be proficient in writing and speaking the English language. • Experience in Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 and network operating systems. • Experience in Active Directory, domain administration and the primary network services. (DNS, WINS, DHCP, GPO’s, WSUS, DFS, AV, etc.) • Implement and support network disk and tape backup and disaster recovery. • Administer a network of up to thirty five hundred (3,500) workstations or assists in administration of a large site or network, utilizing one or more TCP/IP protocols. • Provide technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs. • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, file servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment.
Desirable Requirements: •Perform and/or oversee software installation, and network operating system upgrades; maintain site licenses for department/organization. •Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, and file system integrity, and adding and deleting users. • Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties. • Knowledge of virtualization technology – installation, planning, maintenance • Knowledge of network architecture/ design (VLANs) • Knowledge of installing/using NAS storage (SCSI, SAN, FIBER) • May lead and/or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions. • Maintain knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
