Short Description
TOOL MAKER
manufacturing company has an immediate need for a TOOL MAKER. Who can machine, fit, polish, assemble and repair, dies jigs and assembly fixtures using a variety of tool room equipment. They must also be able to use manual lathes, mills, grinders, and wire EDM machines. Candidates should have the ability to read and understand tooling blueprints and be able to estimate completion time for the modification of existing tooling. Candidates should desirably although not essentially be able to perform maintenance and
Essential Functions of the role are:
- Make and repair tooling .
- Set up and operate all standard tool room equipment including conventional mills, lathes, surface grinders, and EDMS

- Assemble and disassembles tools
- Verify dimensional accuracy of part detail
- Take direction from and interfaces with other tool makers, die cast personnel, and tooling engineers
- Maintain work areas and tooling to ensure a clean and safe environment
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand (or ability to learn) blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic shop-math and computational skills
- Ability to use standard inspection tools
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Some trade school, vocational training or relevant technical coursework preferred
- experience in a tool room environment as a tool maker.
- Experience with conventional machine tools,
- Exposure to Mastercam or any other cad-cam software(Desirable but not essential)
